Moreover, this trend can provide a substantial economic stimulus. The increased volume of travellers directly invigorates tourism-related industries, creating myriad jobs and supporting local economies. For instance, the proliferation of budget airlines in Europe has enabled millions to travel for leisure, precipitating a boom for hotels, restaurants, and other local services.

Conversely, I am convinced that the low cost of flying carries profound environmental repercussions that cannot be overlooked. The primary concern is the industry's significant contribution to climate change. Specifically, the sheer volume of flights results in substantial carbon emissions per passenger, a factor that directly accelerates global warming. This environmental degradation will invariably lead to long-term, irreversible harm to both ecosystems and human health. Furthermore, perpetually low ticket prices can encourage a culture of overconsumption and unsustainable tourism. This is because the ease of travel leads to more frequent trips, often resulting in increased waste, rapid resource depletion, and immense strain on popular tourist destinations. Many European cities, for example, now experience severe overcrowding attributed to budget flights, placing immense pressure on local infrastructure.

In conclusion, although cheap air travel delivers noteworthy benefits by fostering cultural exchange and boosting economies, these advantages are, in my view, overshadowed by the critical and escalating environmental damage it causes.
